Twisty soft curve penta-vase

I've done some playing with the openscad basics and found that the extrude function is pretty limited when it comes to more complex shape creation.
This is generated using mathematically generated 3D coordinates in a list and then picking off the values into a base, layers of paired triangles around the circumference and then a top, triangles from the perimeter to the centre. Each triangle is supposed to be drawn clockwise looking at the outside, do it the wrong way and in "thrown together" mode offending triangles will show as purple. I have it all showing correctly, but the stl rendering gives a non "simple" result.
Anyway, slic3r flags an error and won't slice it.
mattercontrol slices and prints it fine.

See the instructions tab for successful printing. The key to a tidy wall and good sealing is to print considerably thicker than the nozzle orifice diameter by simulating a fatter diameter nozzle. This makes base printing much faster and means multiple walls aren't necessary.
