Polaroid Filament Scale Spool Holder

Updated 1/18/21 - Adjusted the end notch and base to make it a little bigger. Also added inside support all the way down part to prevent separation at filament lines.

This is a spool holder for the Polaroid Precise Filament Holder & Scale. The original spool holder was made to hold Polaroid branded spools of filament. This made some other brands not fit correctly. They were sometimes too tall, wide, etc.

I designed this in Fusion 360 to replace the original with no extra screws or parts.

It sits about 10 mm higher on the center of the spool than the original and is also about 10mm smaller diameter so it will hold 200g and 500g spools with smaller holes. It is also about 10mm longer. None of these size changes affected the weighing capabilities of the scale. I tested to check this. See pictures.

I removed two screws and removed the original spool, slid on the newly printed one and re-secured with the same screws.

Sliced with Cura 4.0.8 with the orientation in the STL. I printed with support.
