Description
Self designed hand wheel for the MPCNC in combination with the OpenCNC shield (https://blog.altholtmann.com).
Fits with 19mm switches and potentiometers with 7mm axle (holes are 7.5mm).
The display is mounted to a small piece to make it easy replaceable for other display holders.
I used the newer version of the commonly used 0.96" OLED screen with 4 pins with an internal SSD1306 driver. This new version has different dimensions than the original, so watch out!
The display gives information about the autosquare status and the water temperature of the spindle cooling. The two potentiometers adjust the feed rate and spindle RPM while the 3-position switch next to the estop controls ESTLCAM moving speeds when using the joystick.
The switches colors’ gives a hit to its function:
blue for air, red for danger, white for program related
blue PWR= vacuum cleaner start/stop (or later maybe liquid cooling)
white PWR = program start/stop
white 3 position switch: control estlcam speeds for the joystick
red PWR = spindle start/stop
orange = initiate autosquare
e-stop = stepper motors cutoff
I used this 3d printed cable gland: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2754383
