Description
This is a mold for a 1lb aluminum ingot for sandcasting.
I got this idea from ArtByAdrock on YouTube because I'm fairly new to casting and needed practice. Every week I melt down scrap aluminum so I decided to sandcast these ingots until I get more experience for more complex projects.
The model is just a tiny fraction of an ounce larger than 1lb but "shrinkage" while cooling should compensate.
It has a trapezoidal cross-section and there is a 4mm hole in the bottom for easy removal from the casting using a screw.
This is the video that inspired me: https://youtu.be/TlBWwHfX5FE
