save the bottom plastic piece by drilling out the rivets, place tube in plastic piece then drill holes with a 2mm or 3mm diameter drill bit and screw in some M3 screws with counter sunk heads.

you also have to extend the spring pin button for the handle, I did this with a small aluminum tube spacer and a nut and bolt that fit accordingly and again drilled out the rivet behind the button and used that hole as a mount, it was also an M3 bolt and nut I believe
