Description

The hammer hits the iron rod driven into the ground and creates a knock and vibration in the ground, which a mole doesn't really like, it searches the distance and hopefully moves in the direction of the most unpopular neighbor.

Actually this is an application for a windshield wiper motor and a pulse generator, but I didn't have it at the moment, therefore a stepper motor, which made the adjustment much easier.

Because it had to be quick and easy, I didn't write a sketch for the Wemos, but control the device via FHEM as MQTT Devive and let it run with MIS = 1 225 steps, switch off the holding force (SLEEP) after the movement
and the hammer swinging back brings the lever into a good starting position for the next start. (Which guarantees that the position is correct for a short time.
That has proven itself in case he chokes and the engine doesn't even get noticeably warm.

It worked! Reliably it evicts the mole, after 2 days he had moved 10 m further, after 4 days no more hills could be seen anywhere.
The first 2 days it ran every 10 seconds, then every 20 seconds, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Fear! The mole could come back as its miles of corridors are still there!
Since a mole can dig up to 7 meters per hour, around 1 stroke per hour should be sufficient for prevention in the future, so the device has a future.

After 1 week of operation I was able to discover molehills 2 gardes away, the range is probably too high, but the mole is a guest of other people.

Used material:
1 car battery, if you want to have it mobile, otherwise 12 volt power supply
1 standard hammer 300 g, whereby a 5.5 mm hole must be drilled into the handle
1 M4x16 screw for the stepper axis (cut M4 thread in the lever)
1 M5x45 screw with nut for the hammer, secure the nut with Loctite or use a stop nut, or
1 M5x50 screw with 2 locked nuts
4 M3 x 10 screws to screw in the stepper motor (I just didn't have it)
1 screw M5x40 with lock nut or M5x45 with 1 lock nut for fastening the roller to the lever, cut an M5 thread in the lever
1 pipe or rod 20 - 70 mm approx. 1-1.5 meters or iron post or whatever can be found
1 Wemos D1 (not the mini) or an Arduino Uno, with Tasmota and activated stepper driver, has the advantage that it can be operated directly with 12 volts, or whatever can be found
1 Nema 17 stepper motor
1 A4899 stepper driver, with reset and sleep on GPIOs in order to be able to switch off the holding force
(If this is hardwired, 2 GPIOs are sufficient for control, STEP and SLEEP)
various cables, solder, etc.
