Feyachi Green Laser Shim

2021.03.03. so first shot with the GL6 mounted on a 7.62x39 AR Upper and the laser died. pulled it apart when I got home from the range and the laser was glued inside an o-ring glued to the tube. Glued it up again , but figured it would eventually fail again, so whipped up this quick shim- to use it, unscrew the front of the laser place the shim in and tighten the front cover and the locking ring appropriately.

2021.03.05. I reached out to Feyachi customer support on the 4th and described what happened. they responded within the day apologizing for the issue and offered to send me a new one. Pretty pleased with their customer service. I have been happy with everything else I have gotten from them. I am curious to see if mine was just missing a part.

2021.03.06 put 40 rounds throught and the laser still works, so think the problem is solved.

2021.03.10 So Feyachi did indeed send me a new one. The internal construction is different than the other one- the laser module is different and there is a plastic sleeve protecting the board that wasn't in the first one. additionally the grommet is secured much better with what appears to be a vinyl type flexible glue with a really thick bead. Due to the different internal construction, the front of the grommet is much closer to the front of the housing, so if I was to use the shim, I would need one a little bit shorter. Last point, at first glance the laser appears to be not quite as bright as the other one. will have to compare after dark to see side by side, but If so, I assume that means it will last much longer. before requiring a battery change.

2021.05.06- I went ahead and uploaded a version that fits the new gl6- the new one is 6mm thick while the original one is 9mm thick
