Customizable Round Rod Hook - S-hook and 3-hook

This is a simple customizer for creating S-shaped or 3-shaped hooks. They are a flat-sided design for easy 3D printing with filleted (rounded) edges to give them a high quality look and feel.

I have created the customizer so that all parameters defining the shape and size are easily settable to make hooks for any purpose and attaching anywhere... towel rods, shower curtain rods, clothes closet rods, curtain rods, door knobs, bicycle frames, etc.

I originally created it to make a 3-shaped hook strong enough to hold a wet bath towel that would snap onto my towel bar and would stay firmly attached unless force was applied to snap it off. This was accomplished by matching the inner diameter of the hook to the diameter of the towel bar and making the opening 120° so that it was about 85% of the diameter. The second picture shows those hooks.

Running the Customizer

Thingiverse hadn't run their customizer queue from Jul 10, 2020 to Aug 4, 2022 and may stop running it at any time again, so if they don't process your customized job, you will have to install and run OpenSCAD (free software) on your own computer to process the code to create your own customized models.
