Description
Updated with rotating mount
Continuing the collection of Grumman Aluminum Canoe toprail attachments, such as this rod holder and this fishfinder mount.
This is a side-of-the-canoe mount for a fishfinder transducer. The particular transducer for this is the Garmin GT20-TM and a 7/8 O.D. tube (I used an old mountain bike handlebar).
Printed parts consist of the toprail mount compents, the transducer-to-tube bracket, a cable gland (printed in TPE) to protect the transducer cable from the tube edges at the top, and for the rotating mount, a notched TPE disk to "lock" the rotation in up or down position.
In addition to the 3d printed parts, hardware needed:
one 7/8" tube
Inboard mount:
one 2 1/2" clevis pin and retaining clip
version 1:
two 2" 10-24 pan head screws with wingnuts, washers, and internal-tooth lock washers.
version2:
two 1" 10-24 pan head screws and nylock nuts, instead)
version 3 (Rotating Mount):
one 3/4" 3/8-24 bolt and 1/4" high nut
two 1" 10-24 pan head screws and nylock nuts
Transducer-to-tube bracket:
one 1 3/4" 10-24 pan head screw, rubber washer, and nylock nut
(provided with transducer)
The transducer-to-tube bracket is a remix of jabixby's design and can be customized at onshape.
Fusion 360 files included if you wish to customize the railmount for your application.
