Description
The My Book External Hard Drive by WD is designed to fall. The high center of mass and the slim design leading to narrow rubber anti skid feet do not help at all. One small shake to the table or a hand brushing past it will make the drive tip over and will definitely lead to a raised pulse and might have even caused a heart attack or two. I exaggerate.
I have made two main types of fall protectors Pro and Lite. There is nothing pro about the Pro other than the fact that it was the design I made first. I prefer the Lite versions. The rubber feet on the drive will still make contact with the surface keeping its anti-skid property alive. Its a snap fit on the rubber feet but you can add two thin strips of DST to both sides of the feet so they attach and stay on forever and can bear some rough moving around, as rough as you can be with a hard drive anyway.
The product is so simple and cheap to manufacture that I feel that it should be a part of every box that WD ships.
Print with the flat side down and it will print flawlessly.
