Upgrading xBlinds with planetary gearbox https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3642542/
Double gearbox can pullup 5kg watertank and my blinds 2m*1,4m.
To open/close 1,25 m height blinds it take about 15 minutes. :)
Requriments:
1 x WeMos mini D1/D2
1 x 28BYJ-48 Stepper Motor with board
1 x MicroSwitch (optional for manual control)
2 x M3x35 screws - to fix 2 level gears to body
1 x M3x30 screw (fix top hole)
1 x M3 nut (fix top hole)
1 x M3x8 screw to fix cover
1 x M5 15mm washer to fix cover (or print some)
1 x M3 Washer to fix cover
1 x 5V 1,2A old router power supply
To print:
1 x BoxBottom
1 x BoxTop_geared_v1
1 x SunGear
6 x PlanetGear 8mm
1 x Planet_Carrier_10mm_to_09mm_Hex_with_hole_lowered.stl (I've printed it tilted 45 degrees to bed for strength)
1 x Planet_Carrier_lowered.stl (I've printed it tilted 45 degrees to bed for strength)
2 x Ring_Gear_Base_my_lowered+0_5.stl
1 x Gearbox_Cover_my.stl
2 x Pulley 24 deg (normal or less teath depends if connector passes pulley on its way)
1 x Tactile_Button_Base_Rounded.stl or Squared
1 x Tactile_Button_Top.stl
Assembly gearboxes:
1.Take Planet_Carrier_lowered and place 3 Planet gears on it
2. Insert it into Ring Base (1)
3. Take Planet_Carrier_10mm_to_09mm_Hex_with_hole_lowered and place 3 Planet gears on it.
4. Insert it into Ring Base (2)
5. Place Ring Base (2) on top of Ring Base (1) Rotate it until holes match.
6. Place Cover on top, align it.
7. Fix ot with 1 M3 srew and nut in top hole. You can use motor to find 2 bottom holes.
8. Place 1 pullye part, align and place 2nd part.
9. Fix Pulley with M3 screw snd some metal washers (or print some)
It is almost assebled in Year wear photo.
Assembly:
1.assembly electronics (schematics and firmware from XBlinds)
2.place it in body on its places
3.place sun gear on drive.
4.close front cover and fix it with top screw and nut.
5.add gearbox on its place and fix it
How to use:
I've fixed body on surface in such way that I can manually take out a cord from a pulley and place it back in reverse without dissassembling.
Next steps for big blinds
1.Fully open blinds (roll it up completely).
2.Put cord on pulley in crossover/reverse way (rolling down much easy for device than pulling up).
3.In xBlinds - Setup - Experimental assing 65535 per Step Size
4.In Setup press Save as Closed and reset
5.Press + Adjust position till your Normal Closed position and save it with Save sa normal Open
6. Add + some more till you get fully closed position and save it with Save as Full Open (you may need to decrease Step Size value).
7. Remove cord from pulley, manually fully open Blinds and attach cord to pulley in normal position.
Normal pulley works good, but in my case cord length is not enough to fully close blinds (connector hits gear), so I've made a gear with less teeth (checked -works fine).
Added more compact gearbox.
P.S. As for my printer with 0.6 nozzle all gears parts was printed with 95% flow rate to work good. At 100% it can work in 1 gearbox, it add second - it jams and it is really hard to rotate. This info not for updated versions. Please print updated versions as usual.
P.P.S. May 22, still working (making everyday up-down process), disassembled it - gears with no visible wear. Added a photo.
UPD. July 22, dispite no wear out from outside, planet gears became too loose on their shafts. And one day (while I wasn't near of course) it started to click-skip and blinds stucked in closed position. While reprinting from my files I found out that it is not working, messed with files versions and names, didn't mark good one (sorry all who have tried and failed). So I've added some new double stack version with UPD_ which I've preprinted and it works good. Just insert assembled planet carriers one above other in double base and fix it with a cover.
UPD2. Novemer 22. Added better fitting version of planet gears. Added parts for 688Z bearing for smoother motion (cover, pulley and planet carrier).
