Description
This filament guide for the Ender 3 is designed to guide filament coming from above the extruder to reduce friction on the filament and wear on the extruder. It is designed to be installed after replacing the stock extruder with a dual gear aluminum one (since they're inexpensive, and the plastic ones are prone to breaking).
This is a remix of a remix mixed with a remix.
The original design is from Holspeed. Which was remixed by TechnoSwiss to use a 604UU bearing (the one that comes with the original Ender 3 feeder assembly). Further remixed by sebastiandmeier to add room for washers and a captive hex nut. Then remixed by me to combine with the remix of the original by thanapolboss to increase height for the dual gear extruder found here_Amazon
Since my stock feeder assembly broke I wanted to upgrade to a dual gear to allow for easier printing of flexible filaments. I got one off amazon but then had issues with skipping. Realized it was my filament guide as it was too low and create a lot of friction (not bearing based) going from the filament above to below the hole on the feeder.
I started looking for new filament guides and came across Holspeed's. I then started looking through all the remixes for one that was raised up for a dual gear. I found one but it used a 608 bearing which I didn't have and didn't want to buy. I figured since my stock extruder was broken I could just use the bearing that was on it. Had to find a remix with that. Then saw the one with washer space. Then I combined the top of sebastiandmeier's remix for the stock bearing with the base from thanapolboss's remix for the dual gear extruder.
You will need a couple of things.
1x M4 16+ machine bolt
1x M4 nut
2x washers (1x optional washer for the bolt).
604 bearing from stock extruder.
