Gold Morning Symbol

An emblem for Gold Morning, the climax of Wildbow's hit webserial, Worm!

The scarab and the dot at the center have notches on their bottom, which allow them to fit onto the web, to glue them into place all together.

The left side, the spider web, represents Taylor's most versatile weapon, her bugs. The hexagons to the right, her Doormaker portals from during GM. The Scarab in the center is the sacred animal of Khepri, Egyptian God of the rising Sun and Rebirth.

As for the filament, I used PLA Silver and Gold from here.

The print is delivered in three pieces so you can customize the colors.
It's possible you'll have to use a file to widen some of the gaps to fit the scarab onto the web, and if you scale up the parts, I'd wager it won't work at all.

On request, I can provide the SolidWorks files I used, but I'm afraid they're a bit of a mess, as I'm not great with SW.

Edit V2: I had some troubles getting the scarab and the dot to properly fit onto the web. Instead of filing around for half an hour, I enlargened the grooves. Now it wobbles a bit, but nothing you couldn't fix with a bit of glue.
