Xanthor Beast - The Harbinger of Destruction
Xanthor Beasts are the dark henchmen of Dr. Goggles. Their purpose is to disrupt peace among the citizens of the cybernetic city Modiopolis, and ultimately destroy the city and make it their own. Xanthor Beasts are a brute force to be reckoned with. They have an insect like head with powerful mandibles, along with (4) reptilian tentacles with razor tips. The Xanthor Beast also has a scorpion like tail, with a deadly stinger. The Xanthor Beast thrives on inflicting terror upon the citizens of Modiopolis, and dismantling the city.
Xanthor Beasts despise the fairies that roam the woodlands outside of Modiopolis. The stingers of the Xanthor Beast have the ability to transform the fairies into Xanthor Beasts to grow their numbers. The Xanthor Beasts take pleasure in deconstructing citizens of Modiopolis, and rebuilding them into soldiers for the army of Dr. Goggles.

About the Model Design
Initially, I began assembling a creation in Modio the 2nd day into the design challenge, to my liking. I chose to use only the pieces within the Modio app, so that anyone can build the creature, and print, or simply print from the files provided here. Upon completion of the design, I thought it would be interesting to utilize a short story and background which revolved around the current set of pre-built characters from the Modio universe. From the short story, perhaps it could spark additional imagination for the younger audience to create characters, and print existing characters around a theme.
My printed model was performed on a MakerBot Replicator 2, and adheres to the contest “Judging” guidelines. Printer settings were set to print on a MakerBot Mini to adhere to the guidelines of the “Contest Objective” at 10cmL x 10cmW x 12.5cmH.
I used True Black, Glow in the Dark and True Red filament. You may use any colors you wish, or you may paint the model. If printing multiple filament colors, print files 1 thru 5 using Black, 6 using Red, 7 thru 10 using Green or Glow in the dark, and 11 using Red.
The file scale output from Modio was @ 100%.
It required 11 prints from the build volume of the MakerBot Mini (although printed on MakerBot Replicator 2).

You may need to adjust the infill percentage, as I encountered problems with the legs, and arms when removing pieces from the build plate. The legs and arms are brittle due to lack of material in their core. You may choose to do this per build plate, or cut and paste those pieces into a separate print setting, then increase the infill on those parts only. Keep in mind, the higher the infill, the longer the print will take. You may also use rafts, I however, did not. Use a metal spatula to remove parts, by placing the edge between the part(s), and build plate and carefully work the spatula around the part to break it free from the build plate.
