Description
This is a USB-powered formula-style rim. It has 12 buttons, 2 5-way switches, gear paddles, and dual clutches. This was made as a proof of concept replacement for the Logitech G29/G920 steering wheel as I wanted a rim that I could have an easier time reaching all the buttons. Yes the faceplate is made out of wood, it's was what I had laying around that would do the job but it could be easily be replaced with other materials. If replacing with another material with a thinner thickness (current thickness is 6mm) the electronics covers will need to be made taller to clear the backs of the buttons and the grips might also need to be made bigger to fit your liking.
Software to run the wheel and a PCB to make the wiring easier can be found here. The wheel is set up as a gamepad/joystick. There are several guides online that show how to do this if you wanted to write your software and wire it up yourself, it's pretty straight forwards.
The hole pattern for the mount has 5 holes at a 55mm diameter with a 60-degree separation.
I use this wheel with a G29 quick-release mod that can be found here.
