DIY Pocket Filter Air Purifier

This design listing is for a DIY Pocket Filter Air Purifier using a floorstanding circular gym fan and F8 (MERV-14 equivalent) HVAC pocket filters.

Adapted from the Corsi/Rosenthal box fan DIY filter to use a circular fan and EU specification HVAC pocket filters.

Designed to solve the issue of poor retail outlet availability of box fans and MERV-13 filters in the UK and EU.

Constructed from components available online retail, with next day delivery in the UK.

Purchase hyperlinks can be found in the instructions PDF. Lower cost alternative components of the exact same specification can be used.

Operate at max fan power to ensure pocket filters inflate well and stay separated.

Designed using discussion from previous work characterising circular sealed fans and MERV-13 panel filters.

Unvalidated design prototype concept. Flow rate through the filter media is unknown. Efficacy of this specific configuration to reduce viral loads indoors has not been characterised.
