Summary

Update 10-28-2024: I've uploaded a v1.2 and v2.3 of this thing. It has been tweaked over the years to adjust for printability, robustness, and style.

v1.2 is a more robust version of my original remix.

v2.x is my own based on everything I liked about the original design. This one is more stylized, and so labeled as the sexy version. It comes in a shorty for people who just want to hold an energy drink can instead of a tall sports bottle.

Original description:

This is a sport bottle/cup holder adapter I made for my 2006 Silverado. It's a remix of Size12Point5's adapter.

I made it stronger by reinforcing between the tabs and beefing up the overall dimensions.

I haven't used ABS or ASA, but they may be too stiff for this application.</p><p>These days I mostly use a .9mm line width on a .6mm nozzle to produce lots of extra squish.  A low layer height (less than .2mm), slow print speed, and high print temperature also help with layer bonding. </p><p>Use as many walls as it takes to make the sides solid without needing infill, and at least 1mm thick top/bottom to give it a sturdy shell that can still flex just enough to be useful.</p><p>These settings let you print a very solid upright part, so that you don't have to mess with sideways orientation and lots of support structure.</p></div>
