UPDATE: Took them out on Guadalupe River a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately for my daughter (but fortunately for the data), her boat capsized and got completely filled with water (she was okay!). The braces have held up with the 3M heavy duty mounting tape, no shifting or signs of weakness as we took them out today to Lake Bastrop, still solid as a rock.


UPDATE: Printed in black Inland PETG at 50% infill, fitted them to my daughter, measured/marked, prepped the hull with isopropyl alcohol and attached with 3M heavy duty mounting tape. They are solid, but the real test will be in the water, with the braces (and mounting tape) getting wet.

Still have yet to test the stackers, hopefully later this week.


Foot braces for a kayak that isn't equipped with them. I made these for my daughters' sit-inside Pelican kayaks that had none. I haven't printed them yet, but I plan to use PETG and some Loctite double-sided tape to affix them to the inside of the boats. This way, there won't be a need to drill the hull and the braces will be removable with some effort.

Hopefully the Loctite mounting tape with be up to the task, but if it isn't, I will redesign a screw-mountable version that can be bolted or riveted in place.

I figure just two of these inside the hull will be adequate since if you have a kayak without foot braces, you can easily position these to customize fit for a specific person, but then I thought maybe one might want some versatility or the ability to switch feet positions, so I designed them in such a way that you can stack multiple braces for this purpose. Use the v1 foot peg in front, and add as many stackers as you want on either side for more options.
