Some big camp half-blood beads from the Percy Jackson series. These are the 4 beads Percy has at the end of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series:
- A trident
- A pine tree with the golden fleece hanging from it (you'll need a little bit of free hand painting here)
- Daedalus's Labrynth
- The Empire State Building
I'll be painting these soon and will add a picture when they're complete.
To make yourself print:
1 copy of each of the 4 bead tops (trident, tree, maze and empire state building) and 4 bead bottoms
2 of each of the 4 bead tops and no bottoms so you have the design on the bead twice.
Assembling:
- Put something in the holes to line the beads up if you'd like. I used my pin vice to widen the holes just a little more, then used a bit of 1.75mm filament as a dowel.
- Glue together with super glue, but if you're using the two tops, make sure the top on one side is glued to the bottom on the other so when it's spun around on a necklace both sides are right side up.
- If you're printing on an FDM printer like me, you'll want to do a bit of sanding to reduce the layer lines and hide the seem where they're glued together.
From there it will be easy to pain the beads, putting a second color down in the recesses. My planned paint scheme is:
- Trident: Black bead with turquoise trident (this is the only paint scheme specified in the books). For the metallic turquoise I used the collared metallic paints from Army Painter.
- Tree: Sky blue bead, green tree, brown trunk, metallic gold for the fleece.
- Daedalus's Labrynth: Red bead with grey maze. I also used a dark wash in the recess which I'm lukewarm on.
- Empire state building: Purple bead, ta walls, medium blue windows with some light blue angled lines to show they're reflective.
