Miniature Overlay Hinge in 1:12 Dollhouse Scale

I created these for a 1:12 scale icebox I bought at Goodwill and refurbished, but I think they could also be a nice hinge for cabinets depending on the style your dollhouse is done in. When I began the icebox was very clunky with pin hinges that didn't work well, so I created these overlay hinges and was pleased with them.

The hinge pin is a stainless straight pin of the type used for sewing, snipped to size with a nail cutter and the end filed down to remove the sharp cut edges. In the pictures you might see I hadn't yet painted the pin head, but I finished it with the same Tamiya and AK combination I did for the hinge leafs themselves and was happy with the result.

To attach, I marked where I wanted the hinges and then carefully scraped the paint away down to bare wood. The first go-around I used E-6000, but when I replaced the broken lower hinge I didn't feel like waiting for the E-6000 to cure so I used Krazy Glue brand cyanoacrylate instead. I had acceptable adhesion with both, though I'll be curious to see if over time one proves preferable to the other.
