The front and rear motor mounts are a good upgrade for the V-Core 3.0
The rear motor mount is a good uprade for the V-Core 3.1
There are three versions of the rear motor mount. There are two options for the V-Core 3.0 and one option for the V-Core 3.1
I found under some situations the standard motor mounts were flexing and over time they could droop, especially the rear one.
I like how Rat Rig in version 3.1 have followed my lead with:
1. Putting flanges on the motor mounts to better support them and hide the gaps between the mounts and the floor panel
2. Detents on the motor mounts that key into the grooves in the 3030 extrusions.
3. Designing them to work with much simplified floor panel cut outs
...but they missed the opportunity of bracing the rear motor mount with an extra extrusion which my rear motor mounts offer.
The non flex front motor cages have:
1. Wider mounting holes spacing to make the mounting more rigid.
2. Sealing flanges to cover gaps between motor mount and floor panel.
3. The rigid sealing flanges also help support the motor cages on the floor panel.
4. Front motor mounts have detents that fit into the extrusion slots to provide a more rigid mounting.
5. A simpler cutout shape for the floor panels than V-Core 3 (version 3).
In addition both versions of the rear motor mounts:
As per the photos are designed to be used with an extra frame extrusion to prevent droop. The front of the motor mount sits on top of this extrusion to prevent it flexing. If you don't want to install this extra extrusion rail I have another version of the rear motor cage that is better than standard, but is not stiff enough to be part of the Gold Series of mods.
Alternative rear motor mount for centralising the leadscrew on the V-Core 3.1
I have also included a rear motor mount that centralises the rear leadscrew on the V-Core 3 instead of having it offset. This motor mount is compatible with the VenterMech rear arm.
If you would like a VenterMech equipped bed arm with the centralised lead screw please email me
