Description
This is my attempt at a robust folding pocket knife model that works as a letter opener or scratch off tool. I used the clip and blade lock design from the "Flip Knife Business Card Kit! - The Original" by Y_Dascalu. I then modeled the knife design after a "Gerber" pocket knife I have with some design changes for 3d printing.
The pin for the blade might need to be scaled to properly fit the blade hole due to the size and printer variations. It takes less than a minute to print the pin alone.
I printed the handles, pin, and clips (x2) at 100% infill for structural integrity.
Assembly Instructions:
- Press handle halves together while aligning pins. It should snugly snap together.
- Push pin for blade halfway into the small hole in the blade.
- Align large hole in blade with the large holes in the handle. Sliding the blade into the middle of the two blade handles. Make sure blade is facing the correct direction for moving in and out.
- Push one clip through the large holes, gapped side first.
- Push second clip through from the opposite side with the clip perpendicular (90
degrees) to the first clip.
Enjoy!!!
