WINDOWS 1/12 Scale for Dollhouses

This 1/12 scale dollhouse window printing project will give you very realistic functioning operable windows. Print the windows first because they require more detailed assembly later. Included is a master jig to hold everything in place during gluing and assembly. The window frame, stiles, trim and frame with sill is universal to work with all sash designs. Once all elements are printed, place the jig on a flat surface and place a short stile at the top away from you. Make sure the 2 rails face inward and notice the mitered corners are orientated correctly. Next slide in a long stile, either side is OK. Next slide in your chosen window sash fully into this new corner. Now slide in your other long stile, fitting it to the sash first and then pushing it fully to the corner and then down into the jig. Make sure all three stiles are fully pushed to the bottom of the jig. Now slide in your second lower sash making sure the little lift handle is facing you, as this represents the inside of your assembly. Move the lower sash up about an inch and slide in the forth short stile. Some trimming may be necessary on the miters because each printer is different. Next slide over the stiles your chosen frame trim or frame with sill. Push down about 1/16" and make sure it is parallel to the outer surface. Now very carefully glue from the inside making sure no glue touches the master jig because it will be used many times in the future. Let dry overnight. Remove the master jig and you are ready to install into your dollhouse. It is up to you if you want frame trim on both sides or frame with sill only on the outside. Your choice. The sash windows are a sandwich of inner and outer frame with the clear "Glass" plastic in the middle of the 2 designs. The clear "Window Plastic" should not be any thicker than .015" otherwise the sash will not fit in the stile properly. The Frank Lloyd Wright windows are not intended to be used with the universal frame.
