UFS-122 3X5 Recipe Index Card File Hinge Box / Recipe Box or Holder

This is one of several designs for a 3X5 card file box. A box with a hinge is a popular item, and I am interested in finding the best, or some of the best hinge designs for 3D printing. I am using the 3X5 card file box shape as a way to compare. Interior dimensions are approximately

3.25" x 5.16" or 82.6mm x 131mm

This is a fantastic box and integrated hinge design. By printing the lid standing up it allows for minimal support. (You will need support, and be sure to remove before closing the lid.) I have used for several box projects that needed a lid. The final design is simple but flexible if you have basic design software.

The lid does have a simple latch. There is a tab and an interference fit to a slot in the bottom. It is very hard to open the first time. but get easier.
