Mini Monster Willy Big Brother

This is a 140% size expansion (Big Brother) and remix of the Mini Monster Willy.

I printed the original, and while the grandson liked it, it was a real PIA to clean off supports, and nearly impossible to do so without damaging the steering wheel and shifters, so I made the steering wheel and spare tire separate parts to minimize supports. See post-printing photos and notes for the support blockers still needed for a clean, easy to clean print of the body and frame parts.

The print-in-place wheels also did not work for me at all. I also wanted a separate, sturdy, near indestructible hub to mount on 3mm steel axles, and a separate tire that I could print with flexible TPU filament.

The frame part has 3.5mm holes all the way through the axle mounts, to give the axles plenty of room to spin, and also let the truck turn unpredictably just a bit as it moves. The wheel hubs have 3.05mm holes for press fitting the 3mm axles. If they are too tight, a little heat from a heat gun on the ends of the axles lets them slide right in, and locks them in place when they cool.
