FREKI I is an open-source quadcopter, designed specifically for me to be able to get everything I wanted out of a high-performance FPV quadcopter. I wanted characteristics suitable for smooth cinematic flying, and FPV racing, whilst still being easy to fly, with extreme durability, making it a hybrid of canonical quad designs. The design styling is reminiscent of early tank designs, and suitably so - the roll-cage and thick unibody carbon-fibre frame provide excellent durability and strength.
FREKI I can even be developed by you, with the public CAD links, you can add and change whatever specifications you want - developing your own parts for your drone!

Is FREKI I for you?
1) Do you want a very-tough frame design?

Yes I do! I don’t care if it’s a bit heavy! I want a frame that is strong; even if the unibody does break from a really big crash I dont mind - I prefer that to replacing lighter arms more often.
2) Do you have access to CNC routing or a company to do it for you?

Yes I do! I know a guy and he cuts amazing carbon. Perfect, ideally this frame should be cut from 5 mm carbon fibre, with some chamfering to the edges.
3) Are you okay at electronics/soldering/DIY/building quads?

Yes I love quads and have built one before! Perfect, you won’t have any trouble building this quad. If this is your first quad, have a look at the instruction manual it should help! Or, maybe check out AESIR II.
