Description

For an OctroScreen with Raspberry 3b, I designed a housing that should cover both the 7 inch touch screen (1024x600 pixels, "7 inch HDMI Display-H") and the Raspberry. I have planned a 50mm fan and an outlet for cables that can be attached to the GPIOs (enclosure plugin for Octopi).
I have included an attachment (green in CAD sketch, red in print) that fits a Regatix shelving system or might be placed on a table. You just have to improvise here.

Print part "Halter links" twice.

BOM for Enclosure and Raspi Case

  • 4x press nut M3 length max 6mm, diameter of holes is 3,5mm (a little tight)
  • 4x metric screw M3x12
  • 4x washer for M3 DIN 125 B
  • 4x M2,5x15 + 4x washer for touchscreen fixation ("Halter" will also be fixed with the 2,5mm screws, if you plan to use it...)
  • optional: two thin stripes of neoprene (Moosgummi) to fix the backplane to the touchscreen.
  • touchscreen i used: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001704445373.html

BOM for Regatix holder

  • 1x Regatix wall holder
  • M8 threaded bolt approx. 200mm
  • 4 Nuts M8 + 4x washer 8,4mm for fixing bolt to Regatix wall holder
  • 4 Nuts M8 + 2 x washer for fixinf the holder (1 regular one used as locknut on each side)
  • 1x Nut M8 for the handwheel (can put it left or right) +1x washer (PA6 as optimum, steel will do)

BOM for fan:

  • 4x M4x16 lens head screw + 4x washer
  • 4x self locking nut M3 + 4x washer
  • 50x50mm 5V fan with dupont 2pin connector (to fit to the plug at the touchscreen back)
  • 1x self locking nut M8 for the end without handwheel + 1x washer

Printing:

  • I used 0,6mm nozzle with PET-G at 235 deg and heatbed temperature of 80 deg.
  • Try to print the 2,4mm walls using "walls" of your slicer. If using a 0,4 nozzle, you need 3 walls.
  • use dry filament or you will die in strings ;-)

Tip:
Some micro USB plugs for the power connection of the Pi are very thick, I lowered the backplane as much as possible and even the thick ones will fit, but maybe there will be no space between the plug an the backplane.
