Percy's Pepper Box - The Legend of Vox Machina

This is pepper box is based on 'The List' pepper box from the series 'The Legend of Vox Machina' used by Percival Fredrickstein von Musel Klossowski de Rolo III. This is a work in progress. I will update it as I refine the design. I plan to add some function to this down the line by making the hammers move when you pull the trigger. Also make the barrels able to be rotated.

I designed the barrels and guard based on several different pictures from the show. I used the pistol grip from the amazing looking flintlock I found on here. You can find the flintlock at: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2862556 which I also have listed as a Remix source. I decided to use this instead of making it look exactly like the one in the show as his Pepper box was described to be very ornamental and I wanted it to reflect this In the show they made it look more simple for the purpose of animation. I did some modifications to this pistol grip from the original one I found here. I changed the trigger, added a second hammer, and made the hammers printable separately.

Instructions:

• Print the Pistol Grip. Use the two halves and print laying flat. This is to ensure the layer direction will support the weapon and not separate.
• Print the trigger laying flat on the bed.
• Print the Support Post laying flat and DO NOT PRINT UPRIGHT!
• Print Barrels also flat.
• Print the Hammers laying flat.
• Print the guards (Guards.stl is one complete piece / Guard (Front/Back).stl are a two piece split for smaller printers. They are designed with key slots to make sure they fit straight.)

The Supporting post fits tightly inside of the barrels and the pistol grip. You might need to sand this down to make it fit neatly. Place the supporting post inside of the two halves of the pistol grip and glue whole assemble together.

Insert the other end of the supporting post into the barrels. you might have to sand it down more to make it fit fully inside of the barrels. There is an indent in the back of the barrels to help with alignment of the barrels to the pistol grip.

(The reason for the Supporting post is to help support the weight of the barrels so they are not just glued to a single flat part. I had some issues with the barrels wanting to separate from the pistol grip during test print.

Glue the hammers into place

Glue the Guards in place.

UPDATE 2/24/2022:

• Corrected an issue with several parts haven't 'particles' that would make them take up extra space on the printer
• Made the Guard extend into the barrel mount to extra stability

UPDATE 2/27/2022:

• Fixed Support Post's file to get rid of the extra 'particles' that made the print area much larger then they should be
• Fixed Hammer's file to get rid of the extra 'particles' that made the print area much larger then they should be
• Made the hammers twice as thick to make them more realistic and be much sturdier.

UPDATE: 3/5/2022:

• Added a split version of the guards so they are easier to print on smaller printers.
