Succulent Planter or Small Case

Updates 03/03/2022 I thought it might be nice, if these were being used as containers instead of planters, if they could stack. I therefore did a slight revision of the model and made them stackable. I have left the others available if needed. If you need to print with a line width of 1.2 mm they will still fit but will be a little tighter than with 0.75 line width. I have also added a new design at the same time. K8 may also need to be printed at 1.2 line width to ensure that there are no gaps in the sides but I have not tested this with narrower line widths. I had a slight problem with my computer and lost a few of my files so some of the new designs are not exactly the same as the older versions. 03/02/2022 I added a base for using with the planters. It is already resized @110% and it is hollowed out so that it can have the small risers to assist with drainage. This part can still be printed in spiralize mode as long as enough bottom layers are given to print to just above the risers before switching to spiralize. In my case with 0.33 layer height it was about 9 bottom layers. Your settings may require a different number. Of course it can be printed normally, it will just use a little more filament and take a little longer to print. 03/01/2022 Inside Curve (ic) I have added a few files that are marked with 'ic' in the name. These are basically the same as the others but in order to speed up printing and decrease the amount of plastic slightly, I have curved the inside wall. Summary There are a ton of these small planters available so I decided to add my own. The original design was inspired by cgpena's planter P4 which he marked as a fail but I liked the design. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3005472 I wanted something simple so I opted for a spiralized print (vase mode.) I printed using a 0.6 nozzle with a 0.75 line width. For some of the designs 0.75 line width leaves some small gaps in the side due to the overhangs. In those cases (K5 & K7 are examples) I used a 1.2 line width. Since I printed using a wood filament (Matter3D filament - Victoria, BC) I also used a hardened steel nozzle. https://www.matter3d.com/ I included a lid that I printed using 0.75 line width so the design can be used as a small container. The lid can double as a base for a planter if you scale it 110% to 120% If you are using these as planters and using a base then the container should probably have a small hole drilled in the base for drainage (or just place some rocks in the bottom.) The filament I used appears to be pretty water tight but others may sweat or leak so be cautious when leaving these sitting on furniture or other surfaces that may be damaged by water.
