Description
Printed the original on my pretty precise FDM printer and just could not get anything to assemble. There was difficulties on how the parts were uploaded getting them flat for printing, fitment was too tight and way too much sanding was required and I still couldn't get most of them to fit.
This is a complete remix and has all of the parts you need. the only untouched parts are the Visor and the Antenna. Everything else has been adjusted for better assembly and minimal if any sanding needed.
This is assembled with the following M3 screws\nuts:
2x M3- 16-18mm (ankles)
1x M3- 18mm (neck to head)
3x M3- 25mm (knees and neck top)
3x M3- 35mm (hips and neck bottom).
9x M3 Lock Nuts
You'll also need a little bit of super glue for those pieces that need to stick together like the pin heads to the pins for the feet. The antenna to antenna ring. Eye ring to eye frame. Antenna mount to head.
There is no need to glue the lo-leg and up-legs together. The screws will hold those together fine. If you glue the neck ring to the head, you may have difficulty if the screw to the neck top gets a little loose, even though the nut is at the top.
Print the head with minimal infill, like 5% so its lightweight. The body you might want to also do minimal infill like 10-15%.
3-4 walls (1.2-1.6mm on standard 0.4 nozzle) are required to ensure the lock nuts wont spin out in the parts and ruin the printed pieces.
I haven't tested the exact fitment on the antenna ring\mount but it should save you all the sanding I had to do.
The ankle discs might be too thick so I might need to trim those to ensure the low leg pieces fit together at the bottom.
M3 Nuts Warning
To install the nuts, it can be a tight fit. I suggest using a screw with a washer from the bottom and pull the nut down into the slot by tightening the screw. The washer prevents the screw from damaging the print as you pull the nut down, just rotate as it gets close so it matches the hole cut. You might need socket\pliers to hold the nut until the plastic secures it from spinning with the tightness of lock nuts.
UPDATE: 14d_head_r_b.stl uploaded to see if it fixes issues downloading the original file. No changes.
UPDATE 2022-11-12: Replaced 15_neck_head_ball_r with new fixed 16b_neck_head_ball_cut.stl
