Description
This is a very simple AM Radio based on the TA7642. It operates off of a single 1.5V alkaline AA cell.
Note: The LED must be GaAsP based or it will NOT light up on only 1.5V. Some examples of LEDs that will work are: AL310A or AL360B (AL360B requires a small resistor.) Basically try an old RED led. The tuning capacitor is RV5728 from Jaycar and the antenna is LF1020. The circuit is the basic application circuit from the datasheet with a DC blocking capacitor and 1300:8 impedance transformer on the output.
