UPDATE 5/27/2022, VERSION 3 ADDED:
Corrected the issues identified below. Not planning to reprint for myself, so let me know if you find any issues so I can fix them. Widened drawers, notched drawers, for cables/beeper I added holes for passthrough of display parts. If anyone requests changes, I will try to make them. It isn't perfect yet, but I like the way it looks.
If you want the older version file added, without the notches in the drawers, let me know. I don't have a problem adding them, just didn't want to confuse anything.
UPDATE (5/26/2022): PROBLEMS THAT NEED FIXING
A lot of adjustments needed for this.
- Drawers are ~2mm too short. I added the 2mm to allow the edge to hook the LCD frame, but didn't add it for the drawers. *FIXED IN VERSION 3
- Drawer stops are not angled enough to prevent bridging (but almost didn't notice my machine did it so well! No drooping, just a little squeak when touched as it is not melted to the layer next to it.) *FIXED IN VERSION 3.
- The beeper on the back of the LCD is in the way of drawer, so need a hole in top, or change shape of drawer. *HOLE ADDED IN VERSION 3
- The LCD cable and connectors on the LCD are in the way, a lot. Poke through the back or extend the height and change drawers. Likely why the original creator didn't hook the side on the LCD frame. * ADDED IN VERSION 3.
- May need to lower top of the front edge. I already did on the model posted, which was not the one I printed. Not sure it is enough. *ADDED IN VERSION 3
I will make all the changes tomorrow. If you are okay playing with a dremel, you can print the parts today :p I will post pics of my hackery to make it work, so you can emulate. Or just wait one day and get the fixed version, lol. Sorry for blurry pics. Phone used to take great pics til I had screen replaced.
Thanks to Lina_Maria for making this drawer set. I modified it for use with the Ender 5 Pro. Tried to ensure all mods would print without supports.
MODIFICATIONS:
- Extended the width of the Base and drawers to 100mm.
- Added a small lip on the left side so the drawers don't go through. Rounded them so they should print without supports. I will be able to determine if those need to change once the print is complete.
- Lowered front top edge so the lip could rest along the top edge of LCD.
- Extended holes about 5mm from drawers to provide clearance for extrusion.
- Rounded bottom of left corner where 4 screws go, so corner won't stick out.
- Added my logo, but it will be hidden behind the metal plate.
- v2 - Included a v2 that has 4 hooks on the back for LCD cable or any other management or storage. I added an stl with just that hook in case you wanted to add/remove on your own. The base is rotated 26degrees from the hook. Originally just put 1, but 4 makes it symmetric.
FILES TO PRINT
Print 1 of each of the 3 drawers
Print 1 base (either v1 without cable hooks or v2 with cable hooks)
PRINT ORIENTATION
- Base should print with 9 holes on the ground.
- Drawers with with bottoms down.
PLANNED EDITS
I will make adjustments once mine is printed and installed. I will also let you know if the factory screws will work or not. I will likely add a version 3 with some way of attaching a Raspberry Pi case.
