Hearing Protection Mount for Wall Control (and other boards, too)

A straight-forward Hearing Protection Mount for Wall Control to organize "over the head" earmuff-style PPE.

I loved the elegance of 3dballs's Hook to hold Ear Protection. It holds the PPE in an efficient way on the wall so that more board is available for other things to be attached. It has a wide point of support so as not to stress a tiny section of the PPE's band and possibly tear it. Plus it is simple to retrieve and easy to return any earmuffs that you used.

There was only one problem with their design - it was for IKEA Skadis style pegboard and we don't have that type in our edu-makerspace. So into Fusion360 I went to design my own!

I knew that I wanted these to be stored on a Wall Control board where students could access them as needed per our CareCheck protocols, or based on the work they were doing. I had tested shopnation's Wall Control Hangers to see how well his attachment method worked, and it was excellent. So I went about modeling something similar for all of my Wall Control board mounted holders.

In the end, they came out exactly as I'd hoped they would for our 3M PELTOR Optime 98 hearing protection. I hope you find them just as useful, should you need them too.

UPDATE 2022-06-20: After a superb suggestion from Hassan04DD for a different model, I decided to apply that suggestion to my other Wall Control models. There are three alternate versions available - two for #8 wood screws, and another with no hangers at all so that an adhesive or sticker could be used to hang the mount some where. Also, I updated the name of this model so as not dissuade people from considering investigating this thing just because they didn't have Wall Control boards.
