Description

Saw a video from Thomas Sanladerer on youtube where he talked about cnc machines having sand in them:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWxpN_Sw5Pg

So, as I didnt want to put sand inside the printer, I made these simple sand holders / weights.
Fits inside my ender 5 pro without reducing print area etc.
Made for standard 20x20 alu profiles so should fit any profile of that size but dont know if they would be usefull or not.

Filled mine up with dried sand box sand, as its quite wet I let it dry out for a couple of days.

One full weight / sand holder weighed approx 180 grams.

Used regular super glue to glue the lid on.

Now if these actually makes any difference, I dont know but been using them for a couple of weeks and they havent made the prints worse atleast.

Also saw that Sanladerer posted a video where he tested pouring sand into the alu profiles, havent seen that video yet so dont know if he comes to any conclusion regarding if the weight helps or not.

Including a distancer so that you get the same heights on the weights and a "stomper" to pack the sand with.

Installation:
This part was quite tricky as you have to screw one side in, then "drop" the t-nuts in on the other side, as you cant fasten both sides with nuts on.
I used a small screwdriver to catch the t-nut inside the alu profile and adjust it to the right height and then fasten the screw with my free hand untill it catched onto the t-nut.

Made for m4x10 screws.

Use at your own risk.
