Hi Folks,

you have some cable sticking out of your ceiling? You want to hide them? Or you just connected a lamp to your ceiling and there are ugly cables visible? You don't want to go to the next hardware store only for this? You want to have a quick and cheap 3D printing solution for? Here you are!

This is a fully parametric fast printing design you can customize to your needs. Probably even faster than going to your local hardware store. This thing consists of two pieces; a "bottom" part and a "lid". You glue or screw the Bottom to your ceiling. and put on the lid, which will hold by friciton on to the bottom piece.

There are two versions of this design:

V1 (Hiding open unconnected cables, shown on first picture)

This is fully parametric!
Printable in Vasemode

V2 (Hiding calbes for lamps, see picture 2 and 3)

One additional hole in both cups on the vertical side to guide the cables to the lamp
Still parametric
NOT printable in Vasemode

How to:

I have added some demo .STL files to directly print.
To customize the design open the Fusion360 (.f3D) file

V1

  • adjust the parameters, which should be self explanatory.
  • If you want to print in vase mode keep the wallthickness at 0.4 - 0.8 mm
  • Export
  • set sclicer to vasemode and print

V2

adjust the parameters, which should be self explanatory.
add even mor holes if you like or need to
Export, sclice and print
