Description
Getting the desired color for your print might be hard some times. A possible solution is mixing your own filament by blending two (or more) colors.
I needed an appropriate color for an anatomic model.
This oval spiral has a length of 10 meters and fits exactly the printing area of Prusa i3 printers.
you can print this spiral while switching colors after each layer. In an second pass you use the spiral it self as filament to print an other spiral. This will result in quite homogeneously mixed colors. In the last step your model is printed.
For best results the mixed colors should be quite close.
If you use glue stick or any other bonding or separation layer the spiral must be washed before reprinting.
This model is subject of an (German - sorry) video on youTube about color mixing: https://youtu.be/w1SDB6C9bTs
