Lamp shade mod for IKEA MISTERHULT and Tradfri globe

This is an addon for IKEA Misterhult lamp. If you want to use the Tradfri big LED globe, the lamp protrudes a lot from the lamp. First measure is to turn around the metal ring inside the lamphanger, which gets the globe up a bit but not really enough. If you have a lasercutter and 4mm plywood, you can fabricate an addon to cover the protruding LED-lamp part.

Assembly:
Cut out two pieces of the shade, the ring and the 4 squares.
glue together the two shades and glue the squares as depicted in the picture. The outer square is glued 1/3 to the shade. When you bend the thing into round shape, fixate the other 2/3 with doublesided tape. Now mount into the lamp so that the squares are catchingbehing the inner ring of the lamp andkeep the shade in place. Now put a thin coat of woodglue on the outer side of the ring, glue it into the shade and make sure it is flush with the lower end of the shade. Fix in place until dry with rubber bands. Done!
