Improved Rat Rig V-Core 3.1 XY joiners.
Note this version of the mod is for the 3.1 upgrade of the V-Core 3 only.
The standard joiners use the bolts that act as the axles for the bearings stacks to clamp the XY joiners to the alumimium plate.
This mod also uses the cap screws that hold the aluminium extrusion into the the printed XY joiners to also clamp the XY assembly to the aluminium plates. This is probably overkill but provides a slightly more rigid assembly at no extra cost.
These XY joiners also have the front and rear overhangs removed for a cleaner look.These XY joiners also have the front overhangs removed for a cleaner look. This makes them easier to print standing vertically. I like to print these vertically to get a flatter/truer base and more perfectly aligned axle holes.
This also gives them more clearance to the top plates of the front idler tensioners if your are using them with the OneBox OpenFront design, which is nice to have.
BOM
The original two bottom 10mm long cap head screws that hold the aluminium X gantry into the XY joiners need to be replaced by 25mm cap head screws.
