Description

I ordered a JICCODA universal air assist (air pump) to use with my Creality CR Falcon (10W) desktop laser. The air assist is supposed to work with most desktop lasers, but the CR Falcon 10W has a unique protective acrylic cover. (It's important for setting the focus, it has an air funneling design, and protects from the reflected light of course.) There didn't seem to be a good way to use the included bracket without drilling (and possibly destroying) the included cover, and I might not be able to find a replacement easily. I designed this bracket to work without modifying the acrylic cover, byattaching to the universal mount and keeping the nozzle far enough back that it doesn't interfere with the cover. I do not know whether this bracket is compatible with the CR Falcon 5W, because it's focus method and shape seem a little different.

If you have a CR Falcon 10W, and if your universal air assist is similar to mine (shown), then just print the bracket, unscrew the existing bracket from the head mount and replace it with this lower profile version. Attach the mount to the laser head, adjust the height so that the air will blow where the laser is cutting/engraving. You will need to make sure the cover is oriented so that the little lip in the cover faces the nozzle, letting you mount the nozzle high enough so that you can use the focus bar and set it as low as needed. If your laser is different, this bracket design should be universal enough that it should work with most other lasers that the universal air assists can be used with. You can use a small zip tie to secure the air hose to the bracket (but not too tight or you'll choke the airflow.)

If you try this with another air assist or laser and have success, please share your make to let people know how it works for you.
