IS-3 (JS3) - The Heavy tank of Soviet Army

IS-3 — the Soviet heavy tank of the period of the WW2, started in a mass production its last days and not in time to take in it part. Therefore this fighting vehicle more often consider as one of the first post-war Soviet tanks. The abbreviation of JS means "Joseph Stalin" — the official name of series of the Soviet heavy tanks of release of 1943 — 1953. The index 3 corresponds to the third serial model of the tank of this family. IS-3 received the nickname "Pike", because of a characteristic form of the top front part of the case.
