Description
I needed a way to store my bike pump out of the way in the ManVan and not have it falling over and hitting my bike (which cost more than the ManVan). I designed a self holding mount that can be mounted on your wall or any flat surface like the plastic panels inside an $800 van.
The bracket was designed around the Specialized Air Tool Sport Floor Pump but I would guess it works with most of the Specialized pumps, I think they just change the gauges on them and give them a new name. The body is roughly 31mm or 1.22" diameter. If you pump is about that size, this should work for you. I would also guess this is a common size for cheap floor pumps at bike shops but I have not verified this.
I designed it with 2 mounting holes. The holes with take either #8 or #10 screws (machine or wood screws). The holes have a flat bottom so it's best to use a rounded head screw. The screws should be no less than .75" and 1.00" would work just a little better.
I have included the Fusion file if you want to make any changes, just don't yell at me because my sketches aren't fully constrained....I do what I want.
The first time I put the pump in the bracket I could hear stuff cracking but it never did it again. I would guess it doesn't like being stressed when the pump goes in the first time. This has held up just fine for months now and I am no longer worried about it breaking.
I printed it fairly heavy. 6 wall, 4 top and bottom layers and 36% infill. Yes 36% infill. I missed the 5 key long ago when I was setting up my HD preset and I never changed it. It's just a reminder to me to always check over my work, it will forever haunt me and make me laugh at the same time.
