slot car tyre cleaning setup (slot-it, fly, ninco, scaletric, slotrace)

At home I have a slotrace track, which not always gets used that often. When this happens, always allot of dust collects on the slotcars tyres making them harder or not fun to drive. Therefore, I have made a tyre cleaning station! You just put a bit of water on the sponges, then put your car on the cleaner and give some power! This will quickly clean your tires!

For my track, I just wired the cleaner in paralel with the track such that I can use my regular controller to control the speed of the car while cleaning the tyres. I used copper tape, the same as I have in use on my wooden track, and soldered it so a wire in the pocket on the bottom. But in practice, you could use any sort of conductive material instead of the copper tape.

For the cleaning itself I just cut up two old sponges, and make them damp when I go slotracing. I made them quite big, such that any regular 1/32 car fits on them, even 4wd cars!

I would recommend to print the cleaner with 3 top layers and also 3 walls, to make sure that it is water tight. Otherwise you might get water leaking on your track.

The idea is so simple, but it helps me allot especially for the first laps. Especially in the beginning laps there is allot of dust that gets picked up by the tyres, and this will remove that! try it out for yourself!
