Description
The idea for this design came from a cake stand my daughter made in ceramics. Because she was using clay the support for her stand was a series of solid cylinder shapes. I wanted to use a more interesting geometry, so I opted for the twisted legs I've used before.
An important part of this print is the type of infill used to slice it. Initially I used my standard type - triangular - but it created a very large amount of infill and a corresponding long print time.SO I switched to Lightning; this greatly reduced amount of infill printed and a corresponding shorter print time - a little more than 15 hours. The last photo shows what the lightning infill looks like when it is near completion.
