Description
I wanted to mount some of my most commonly used tools on the underside of a hydraulic table that I just put together. Seeing as I use a pair of calipers a lot for the layout and setup of projects, it was one of the tools I wanted quick access to. This was specifically designed to be used with a cheap harbor freight dial caliper. This is a cheap set of calipers that I keep in my garage that is not temp/humidity controlled for doing quick/dirty measuring. I keep my digital Mitutoyo's in a machinist toolbox in my basement where it is warm and dry. I attached this to the bottom of the my table with a couple of button head sheet metal screws and if the fit is too tight, you might need to use a washer or two to create some clearance between the calipers and the bottom of the table. There are also a couple of spots for a 1/4" x 1/8" neodymium magnets to be added for additional retention. The holder is also angled slightly, so that gravity will also help keep the calipers in place. Like with all of my designs, this was created in inches, so if it shows up tiny in your slicing software, you will need to multiply the scale by 25.4 to convert mm to inches. Let me know what you think and post those makes!
