Note: design pretty much done but printer having issues so fixing printer now to finish creating these.
I threw this together quicker than normal with Meshmixer, so a little messy. I made this seed starter for seeds and plants because I could see improvements that could be done for seed starter 3D model trays listed on various 3D model sites. The key design points for this seed starter kit are below:
- Hex design to allow for more space per seed starting cell.
- Larger cell space to allow seed starting to stay longer in this seed starting tray before transplant
- Modular design for seed starting, use the hex seed cell shape so you can place these side by side if you want to do more plants.
- You can use whatever seed starting tray you want; I plan to use the dollar store trays you can get with handles. Use your favorite tray and add as many plant starter cells as possible.
- If they are not already posted, more hex cell designs will be posted, so you can use whichever shape you want for seed starting or making a seed starting tray.
- Small water transfer cutouts at the bottom of each seed starting tray. Add to your favorite tray and you can have standing water in the seed starting tray to water each seed starting cell.
- Hole in the middle of each seed starting cell to allow for pushing out started plant with a stick or rod.
