Description
I needed to bench bleed my brake master cylinder (MC). I did not see anyone who had designed the port adapters. I was not about to spend $15 on a bench bleeding kit for some plastic threaded barbs and tubing from the auto parts store.
You will need to supply your own 1/4" vinyl tubing, or equivalent.
My car has M14x1.5 threads on the MC ports. While I was at it, I decided to design the most common threads for MC ports. The files are labeled based on thread size and pitch. I don't know how to make imperial threads yet, so I only made metric. Apparently, 3/8x24NF are similar to M10x1.0. Bench bleeding is not high pressure, so even if you just got on a few threads enough to make a seal, it should still work for you.
Print with threads down and barb up. I didn't need a raft/brim. Your printer may vary. Supports recommended. I used tree supports, touching buildplate only. I find that tree supports create less mess and are easier to remove. 3 walls.
TIP: Different printers print threads differently. You may have to play around with scale to get the threads right. I could only get a few threads to screw into the port when printing at 100%, but it was enough to get a seal to bench bleed the MC. If I reduced maybe 1-2%, it might have threaded perfectly.
