Description
I do a lot of backpacking and travel. Thus, I like to optimize space and pack light. I could not find a single pill bottle 3d model that did not have walls that were 10 feet thick. The bottles were small, but the walls took up 50% of the space inside and I could only fit like 2 pills in each bottle. It just needs to hold some pills, not survive Armageddon, so the wall should not need to be that thick. I decided to design a thin-walled pill bottle.
Now I know why there are no thin-walled pill bottles--it is much harder to design a thin-walled pill bottle. When you get to the top threads, there is no support. I had to taper at the top to print without support, so the walls get thicker near the top. Still, I think this bottle is much better for people who don't like wasted plastic or extra weight. I based the design off of the pill bottle by agrif (thing:2593940)--I like the simplicity.
I really like the 75% scale size. I think it is the perfect size for backpacking and fits about 16 ibuprofen tablets. At 60% scale, I can fit about 30+ Allegra tablets or about 15+ Zyrtec tablets. It's super compact! For those who need to fit more drugs, print 100% scale, or whatever scale you like.
NOTE that when you scale down to 60% or 75%, it is basically single-walled with a 0.4mm nozzle, which is plenty thick to hold pills. At 100%, you will likely have a 2-perimeter wall.
I played around with words on the bottle (Ibuprofen). However, with a 0.4mm nozzle, it is hard to read. If you print with a smaller nozzle with finer detail, the words would come out much better.
