Description
I made a few wooden salt cellars and it inspired me to design one to be 3D printed. I gave the exterior an interesting hex pattern, as it will be sitting on a kitchen counter and I didn't want it to be boring. It is designed to be used with some sort of 1/16" diameter pins to act as a hinge. I used some small delrin pins that I had, but you could use a brad nail or a piece of wire etc. I also designed it to be used with 1/8" X 1/16" neodymium magnets (3mmx1.5mm) that I purchased on Amazon. They help keep the lid closed and provide a satisfying "SNAP" when you close the lid. I would/will definitely coat the inside with 2 part epoxy, as it is nonreactive and will not cause any issues as far as coming in contact with food. This was designed in inches, so if it shows up tiny in your slicing software, you'll need to multiply the scale by 25.4 to convert millimeters to inches. Let me know what you think and post those makes!
