Description

Note note: New versions (Base and Top) are so dope. Check the new pics! Highly recommend them with the Z-tripod heads.

Note: New versions uploaded! I'm test printing them this week, but they should be excellent.

This is a remix/remodel of chewiedies's great Hillside Tray/Case on Thingiverse.

The low pro version features through-holes for attaching the Hillside keyboard PCB to the case at up to five points. Four of the holes are for M2 screws and nuts, the other is for M2.5.

The Base model includes holes sized for M2 threaded heat-set inserts. The insert cavities are designed so that the inserts are installed from the front of the case. I recommend, for inserts at this size, putting a long M2 screw through the hole from the front/inside of the case and screwing it a couple turns into your M2 insert, then heating the insert with your soldering iron at ~320°F and pushing/pulling it into place. Use the long M2 screw to ensure that the insert is flat and square. The long screw also ensures that you don't get a buildup of melted plastic in front of your insert blocking your installation screw later! These installation holes are pretty snug for M2 inserts, by design.

The Base model also includes a “built-in tenting puck”, in that it has a ¼"-20 threaded cavity modeled right in to the bottom of the case, so you can just screw it onto your favorite tripod or tripod-compatible tenting solution and go! The Top model is a cover that fits tightly down onto the Base, interfacing at the top lip of the case, to provide extra protection when traveling with the keyboard.

All models are Left side, please mirror in your slicer for Right.

This model was designed in Onshape Free, so it's public! Please feel free to pop over to Onshape via the source URL and remix it further :D
