Description

Canon EOS R7 Grip Extension with the possibility of changing the battery without removing the grip.

I have printed mine with 100% infill, with the stiffest PLA I have. Best with the strength and stiffness that is possible, especially for the part around the battery door.
Got an ok finish and fit with 0.12mm Layer Height.
Support needed, one of the pictures shows my settings.

I did a test and switched to TPU for the upper layers. Thought it would be gentler to the surface on the underside of the camera. Works in the short term, but I can't get the PLA and TPU to bond very well, so easy for them to tear apart.

Two versions:

R7_GripExt_Countersunk.stl:
Attaches to the camera with a ¼” UNC countersunk bolt, Length 3/4".
In case you also want to attach something to the underside of the grip, there are three possible locations for thread adapters 1/4"-3/8"

R7_Grip_Extension_PeakDesign.stl:
With a recessed surface that fits the Peak Design Standard Plate and prevents it from rotating. I couldn't find a bolt in the right length that fit directly. But grinded off a bit of the shank diameter, just below the bolt head, off a standard bolt. So that it fits the slot in the plate. (The last one of attached pictures.)
